So, French pharmacies are quite the hype these days in the beauty community. I am an absolute amateur when it comes to makeup and skincare, so I’m not even going to pretend I know anything about everything.
You see, I’m French. Born in Paris, raised in the suburbs. French pharmacies have been present my whole life, so I didn’t really get the hype. Now I’m even ashamed to say that I’d never stepped into a pharmacie thinking about beauty, it was always a drag to go in there because that meant I was sick and all I wanted to do was to sleep like I’ve never slept before. All those shelves of skin care never caught my eye because to me it was just for people with really problematic skin and lots of money to spend. Because they’re a lot pricier than drugstore products, I never bothered to even check them out or test them. I feel shame, people. I want to slap myself in the face.
I’ve been subscribed to Lisa Eldridge on YouTube for quite a while now. So when her “French pharmacie” video popped up in my subscription bow, I was simply like WTF. But then again, I didn’t have the money to spend or a real motivation and excuse.
A few days ago, I finally splurged. Since I’m going to California in a few weeks to visit my best friend and her family, and primarily because herself and her mom are the ones who got me into beauty stuff in the first place, it only felt natural to get them some French goodies. And I got myself a few products that I’m really excited about trying.
Now this, this freaking divine bottle of beauty. I’ve only been using it for a couple of days, but I think I fell in love from the first spritz. The smell is godly. It’s so comforting. You either love it or hate it, it’s that kind of smell, but I personally adore it. I couldn’t compare it to the MAC prep+prime or to the Evian spray, but I’m guessing they have the same kind of concept. Basically, you spray it on your face and it just adds extra oomph to your face. For me, my skin feels plumper and rehydrated and fresh and comfortable and incredibly lifted. The smell alone lifts my spirit up. I get really excited whenever I lift off the cap and hold that cool fancy glass bottle in my hand. And you also feel good about treating your skin to a bunch of essential oils and vitamins. I got the little bottle for myself, but I already know I’ll be getting the full size as soon as I run out. I got a bunch of other stuff to try out, and a bunch of other things to purchase. At this rate, I’ll be dead broke, but hopefully I’ll be freaking glowing.
